Hi Folks,
Oil/Hexhead noob here very intent on making the RxxR the next bike. I am heading out this weekend to look at two nice R1150Rs, the first a 2002 and the second a 2004. Both have maintenance records, ABS and hard bags, both are no-drops and both have fairly low miles (25k for the '04 and 32k for the '02.) The listed prices (pre-negotiation) are $5,500 for the '02 and $7,000 for the '04.
I guess my main question is what are the main differences between the '02 and the '04?
Do these prices seem in line? Any particular things to watch out for?
Thanks!
Ted

I am guessing that this thread, with nearly the exact same title as yours will be helpful.

2002 R1150R Base used value $4500 Add $500 for ABS; 250 for bags; 250 for low miles (under 40,000).
2004 R1150R Base used value $6500 Add $500 for ABS; 250 for bags; 250 for low miles (under 30,000); Additional $500 for Rockster version.
Either should have heated hand grips and accessory socket standard. '04 has dual spark cylinders (a plus) and improved engine management software.
Accessories such as windscreens, hand guards, auxiliary lights, custom seats, and what not are not necessarily value additions unless they suit you. Bar backs and peg lowering are very user specific and don't add value.

The '04 version also has stainless steel brake lines.
