Hello!

Well, I learned in my personal odyssey that there are different flavors out there, so be careful.

My recollection is that there is a stamped part number on the windshield that will guide a parts dealer when finding the associated attachment hardware. Not sure if my experience is common or correct, but the dealer that I asked told me that I had to buy the entire mounting kit (four mounting bars, as well as the well nuts, machine screws, and washers) in order to get a set of the BMW well nuts and washers (they said it was not possible to buy just the screws, washers and well nuts). Airman, in the post above (Thanks, Airman!) tells me that he was able to put together replacements from home depot, so I am going to try that route.

If I get a good solution, I'll post the sizes, etc, etc.

Does anyone have mounting instruction for the BMW touring shield? I bought one used, and there were none with it. I might be able to figure it out, but it would probably make it easier.

Thanks!

The BMW Accessories web site has the touring windshield in the product selection pages. Select the touring windshield and it will give you a product number. You will also notice on the right hand side a selection box for "Replacement Parts", both dome washers and gaskets and screws and wellnuts. That would seem to indicate to me that those parts are available separately from the entire "kit". Go to the dealer and show that to them.

No need to get them at a BMW dealer...they are apparently available at your local hardware store.

as stated, the wellnuts are ava at Lowes and Home depot. Learn where they are; you will be seeing that area a lot. I HATED that design and got the tall 380 windscreen which bolts on

Good luck with the Cee Baily

How did you get that price? Was it direct from Cee Bailey?

Any idea who you talked to? The guy I just talked to had no knowledge of this windshield, and no knowledge of any special price. He was not inclined to deal with me, which is surprising. I can't imagine that business is booming.
