I'll have to take some pics of my own some day. Got it from a local Doc that got it in Canton, Michigan before he moved here. He only put 1430 miles on it since he had it and it was virtually in showroom condition. Really like the look, it is something of a work of art. I'm afraid that I disappointed my BiL though as he's a real hard-core Harley guy. Me, I wanted something a little different, couldn't see paying Harley money for a bike not as reliable as the Japanese clones. Might have bought something like an FZ1 if this hadn't come along, though the F800ST does look good in the showroom.
I've put the BMW hard bags on it since it already had their mount/rack, though maybe I'll lower the exhaust and get a full-sized bag.
Doubled the mileage to 3K+ with rides to Turner Falls http://www.turnerfallspark.com/ and along the Chisholm Trail (I-40 to US 82) http://www.thechisholmtrail.com/. Been riding with a good bunch of people in the building where I work that have a club.
The Beemer came with the Clymer manual and I'm willing to try new things - had never done a valve job on a car until I did one - so plan on working on the bike myself. However, did have the dealer do an early 6K (including ABS flush) since the bike is 5-6 years old, it was 100+ degrees out and I was also in a hurry. Dug out the receipt and noticed that they didn't change any fluids but the oil, and flushed all the brake lines as that was separately specified. I better get busy.
Thanks for all the good info on the board here. It'll take me a while to read all the threads though.
Guess I'll have to keep a watch on those problem areas like the FD and slave cylinder.
