Same here, but mine has only 80K. How did you get so many miles on yours? I only put gas in mine once or twice all summer. It's sooo much fun in the snow though, with a set of Hakka RSi's

The first two years, I didn't have the bike and had just moved to Maryland. I spent a lot of weekends driving 6 hours to where I used to live at the drop of a hat (Oh, someone's going out after their soccer match? I'm there!). Even after the bike, I drive it a few times a year for work and many trips to visit family and friends, skiing, etc. around the Mid-atlantic and Northeast.

I think about putting snows on just about every year, but with Philly only getting 2-3 'real'[0] snows a year, I can't justify it.

[0] Growing up in Buffalo, my definition of 'real snow' may vary from others.

2006 Mustang GT

My '07 Mustang GT has all the snort I could ask for and great gas mileage (29 mpg) when I can get regular non ethanol fuel and don't exceed 65 mph. Looks great as well, white with flat black racing stripe.

Also own an '08 Ford Escape V6 version. And yes, I do own stock in FoMoCo.

If only ford made motorcycles, if only.... Bet they could give BMW a run for the money. Anymore I'm not sure that is saying a lot.

I got a 2003 Mazda Miata. 2700 lb and 130 hp. The Miata is the cheapest rear drive 2 seater sports car on the market, I think. I used to have Bridgestone protenza RE750's but Bridgestone now makes RE760. The RE750's had a feature I really liked. When the car started to break loose in a turn, the tires would screech. So I knew I should slow down a little. The Miata corners very well. It handles at 90 like it handels at 60. Very stable. The wind don't push it around. First gear thru 40 mph, second gear thru 75 mph, third thru 110 mph, and then od. But the car's computer has a govenor (democrat I think) and 110 is about all.
My R takes care of my need for speed. I recently discovered I was not using full throttle on acceleration.?? I'm now on a journey of discovery about speed and turns. Also I think there is a loose nut on the seat.

Wow, this thread has been running since Sept 2005! I must'a missed it the first 20 times around.

My last American car was my first vehicle as a 17 year old, a (I'm so-so-sooo ashamed!!) 1959 Chevy Bel Aire, 3-in-the-tree, 6 cyl. Parents bought it for ~ $700 and it became my wheels to go to work. Datsun 2000 (2 seater) and 5 speed 260Z during/after my 4 year USNAF vacation. All Mazda, Toyota and Nissan pickup trucks since then. Fast forward to today, my wife and I always buy new, 4 cylinder, 5 speed, 4 wheelers with A/C and keep them at least 80K miles (128,747km) or at least 7 years. Mine, a `98 Nissan Frontier KingCab, 2.4L DOHC 5 speed, 63K miles (101,388km), 29.1 MPG at best, 27.3 MPG usual. It gets driven once about every 2 weeks to the dump and/or Lowes/HomeDepot with yearly 1,000+ miles RT rides to the yearly bashes. No problems with truck, except in 2006 it got a new DuraLast battery. Full synthetic oils in engine, trans and FD.

Wife Ann drives a 2004 Honda Civic LX, 1.7L SOHC 16 valve, 5 speed, 81K miles (130,356km), 36 MPG her normal driving, 42.6 MPG me intentionally driving easy on a tankful trip. I just did a valve adjustment on it and they were all within .003" of the .008" In, .010" Ex spec. Handsome, high quality valve gear components. Aluminum rocker arms with embedded steel followers, threaded adjusters, huge/wide/multiple cam bearings . . . . definitely not like anything I've seen in a car!! Valve adjust was scheduled at the 100,000 mile service + timing belt replacement, but I had time to do it earlier and it doesn't get the big miles driven now that we're retired. Timing belt looks AOK and will be replaced in a year or 2. Nice quiet idle now. Great little car. Slick, effortless 5 speed plus near sports car handling makes it fun to drive. We both hate the "key only" limitations of the power windows, part of the car's "LX" package.

Chevy Z71 4X4, rebuilt performance 8 banger: cam, carb, manifold, headers, distributor, etc. Looks totally stock, never gets driven except when it really snows or when our bikes need to be hauled around.

BMW 325is, has 45k miles on it, original owner, stock other than the Alpine CD. Has only seen rain or snow once in the last 5 years.

2003 GMC Yukon XL Denali (yes, it is huge, with a 6.0L V8 engine)

Both are all wheel drive. I live on a big hill in the "snow belt" of NJ, so I need AWD. I did own a Subaru, but my ex wife got that.

My favorite car was a 1989 Porsche 911 Targa.

A lot has changed since this thread was resurrected. I gave the Audi to my oldest son when it had 160K miles. Alas, it is no more. That was by far the best all-around car I ever owned.

But, I am quite fortunate to work for a company that is tangentially in the auto business, so I have been getting company cars for a while now. I have had two Hyundais and two Toyota RAV 4's. The six cylinder RAV4 is way better than the four.

I just put in an order for a Ford Flex. Something different, and it will accomodate all four kids at the same time.

We still have the monstrous GMC Yukon XL. We put 2,100 miles on it during this year's vacation, and it is now up to 83K.

Exchange the stock mufflers with a pair of Roush resonators and then listen to her growl
That new Camera had better watch out. Someday, if they last long enough, GM might figure out what weight to HP means.
