Gerbing temperature controls

Post by richwerth »

I'm wondering if someone has installed the permanent temp controls on an r1200r and where they put them. I have the portable dual controller and am not really happy with the idea of using velcro to put it on the tank.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I'll just add - it actually falls very readily to hand (left obviously) without having to look at it. Works great, a number of people here have put theirs in the same place.

Yep, I copied the Don and I'm liking the location a lot these days with a nice 41 deg in SF this morning.

I'm thinking I'd like to develop a better way of hooking up my Gerber's coil cord. Right now I have a pigtail coming out between the seat and the tank right in the middle. Besides looking like I'm playing with myself at a traffic light when I want to plug it in, it's just not in an easy location to see and to get a hold of with a full face helmet and gloves on, if I decide to plug in underway.

I'm thinking of putting a female jack (if I can find the right size) into a small box and fastening the box somewhere up on my handle bar where I can actually SEE it and REACH it. The coil cord would rest on top of the tank.

Anybody else done something like this?
