BAGSTER HERE!! Now whats the trick to install it?
Well Folks with bagsters, I just got mine in the mail, I must say I really like the cover. I went on the bagster website to try to understand the motions of installing the cover, work it from top to bottom so on and so forth. The part that is giving me trouble is the wings on the side with the two straps attached. The two straps that are above the oil coolers, there bulging up a bit. I am installing this indoors so the temp is not the issue, I was thinking I was cranking it down to tight but I am at a stand off with it now. I was also curious about the straps, did you folks trim them? the bagster is great if I could just get the darn thing to sit right!!!! Any thoughts? lol

DON'T TRIM THE STRAPS!!
think about it this way.... if you ever take the cover off - you'll need that length to feed the straps back around things again..... (and the BMW mechs will hate you).
This is from memory..
Remove the oil cooler covers
cover on tank.
large front central strap around frame behind steering head, DON'T trap any wires.
two front "wing" straps: down and around the "lugs" welded to the inner sides of the tank (if you make sure they're around the lugs on the tank, rather than the pins on the frame it makes life later a lot easier).
errr - is there another pair of straps? If so they go between the tank and oil coolers, hook to the tank seam and pull tight (I think)
two rubber straps hook as is obvious to the lower seam
two rear straps down to the frame rails and back up.
If you EVER take the bike to a BMW mech - take the cover off. They hate them.
If you need more help post again tonight and I'll go down and take pics of my bike tomorrow.

I think the only pics that I am curious about is the front three and were you found space on the frame rails in the back... Keep on trucking and thanks..... Phil.
This cover looks really nice.... .

ok -one image here :

My expertly drawn coloured circles (ahem), show the hook (lower) from the cooler strap, and the buckle (upper) that holds the longer strap that loops around the tank lug - should be easy to see.

As you can see - the cover tucks into the gap between the cooler covers and the tank - one reason why it's easier to take the covers off when fitting.

Oh thank you thank you!!!! I was also looking forward to having you show what you did under the seat? I put the two straps on the mounts with the rubber wheels for the seat. The problem is couldn't find a spot that would go around and under the blued Frame rails? I really thank you for your photos, you are the best, I see the adjustments now that i need to make to make this thing fit like a glove. Any thoughts about the two that go under the seat?

Mine are broken so I don't actually use them (the cover was involved in an accident and then cut off the bike - so I don't have the larger straps - my cover is held on to JUST the tank, not any frame parts).
you CAN get the straps around the frame rails - there ARE gaps, you just need to find them

don't forget to take the cover off for the service. The techs don't like them cos they're awkward to get on after the service.
