on 33 today?

I saw a black "R" parked on the side of Hwy 33 today; the rider was off the bike to take a picture. I should have stopped and said hi, of course, but I was just too into high-speed curve-carving. Sorry, brother, if you are reading this, no disrespect was intended! I had a great 300-miler, including the California Poppy Reserve, Mt Pinos and Carriso Plains, to add to my 500-miler on Wednesday. What a day! What a bike!

Ah ah ! too funny xprof... its 0045am in Los Angeles and was wondering if by any chance the only guy I saw today on Hwy 33 had posted something on our Forum... And here we are ! Xprof ! barely needed to read your post as I remembered the guy I saw this afternoon just from your profile picture.

Such a Noble Knight ! on your "R" today
and you were also the only R1200R I saw during the day !

And Yes ! I spend my day to sort of "location scouting" and smell the vibe around with my digital camera for a future project of landscapes with a 4x5 lens less Pinhole camera much heavier and bulkier to carry.

Next time make a stop ! I always carry fruits, chocolates and stuff to snack & drink on my bike. AH ! and I also today had a delicious picnic up in those mountains too.

Highest spot on 33 is the summit at Pine mountain, just before heading back down on the dry side of the hill. All dirt, but usually in pretty fair shape. BTW, I was the guy on the red Duc you passed driving the other way. My R12R stays in Idaho.

I'll be off to France and Italy as soon as this foutu volcano settles down (I should have been there today), returning on the 4th of July. Maybe we'll ride together this summer. Au plaisir, l'ami!

The highest spot is as whitelightning describes it; you reached the highest paved road in the area. But if you keep going and descend to the bottom, take the Lockwood Valley Road on the right for some fun twisties that leads to the I-5 for a quick return to LA. There are even some farther options I can show you, too.

And my can is stock. It makes a nice throaty rumble on acceleration from low rpms, and I haven't felt the need to go aftermarket.

Who could have thought that boat peopleing ? will become the new fancy way to travel transatlantic. Ah ! maybe mine do the same noise but I can't hear anything with the C3 and my custom hear plugs... How do you do to ride with an open helmet with all those bugs...I had blood and pieces of insect flesh all over me yesterday when I came back for a dinner at Playboy mansion in Hollywood for a dinner yesterday night....such a turn on ! kidding...

When you have time just tell me the street intersection where start the road that lead to the top.... I am a fresh air addict...
