Stuck spark stick plug coil (now it's personal)

Anyone ever experience a stuck spark plug coil? Was getting ready to do some work on the bike, grab the removal tool (Marc Parnes not that plastic stuff) popped the right side out no issues. Over to the left side.....that sucker will not budge! I nearly pulled the bike off the center stand trying to removal the coil. Seriously the bike shifted to the left about 3 inches. So I opted to place it on the side stand, to prevent it from falling over. Pulled more.....No luck. Now it is just the challenge to get this thing out, even if I just look at it and put i back. Any tips? Thought? Ridicule is also welcome. -Zeke

My bike currently has a "stuck" coil in the right side. Was going to do a full valve service/plug change etc but couldn't get that D******* F****** B***** thing out. (here's my thread on the subject : viewtopic.php?f=2&t=19905&p=175285#p175285 )

My current thinking is to shell out for a replacement (£130 or so ) and just destroy the thing.

I broke 2, TWO of the stupid black plastic puller things trying to get the coil/cap off, and currently can't find any of the metal pullers.

Won't help me anyway - the top corners of the cap started breaking up!! Will have a go with Mole grips I think, before just succumbing to rage, undoing the cam-cover bolts and pulling it all off on one piece, before hammering the thing with a 12' sledgehammer!!

Sometimes in the presence of continuous exposure to heat the rubber "adheres" to the spark plug porcelain. Try to turn the stick coil slightly to the right and to the left to loosen it up.

I know that some people have said that they just use a screwdriver (carefully) to pry it out.

I was concerned that something had melted and then bonded to the inside of the jug. I'll try turning and rotating the coil, and if need be take a screw driver to it (eventually, if I have replacement at the ready). I have to say it does seem like there is something holding it in there, either melted coil or some type of suction effect.

If the coils are originals replace both of them, they are or will go bad.

The stick coil more then likely has rust that swelled the steel case, and also as mentioned the rubber sticks. Make sure you very lightly coat the rubber with die-electric grease when reinstalling the "new stick coils".

If all else fails, pull off the valve cover. It's a two minute job, requires no gaskets to reinstall, and makes the bottom of the coil easily accessible. You could probably use a thumb to put a little pressure on the bottom of the boot from the inside and pop it out.
