Ohlins front shock got-ya?

Post by dc10bill »

I'm I the first on this? When front Ohlin shock is installed on 2004 R1150RT you can't remove cover to access bolt so you can turn the engine on valve clearance checks, cover can slide down enough however to put open end 15MM wrench on bolt to turn and watch for "0" on rh side of clutch housing however. Or didn't I try hard enough to move cover down?
as wanted to adjust/check valves before the throttle body synching with the "Twinmax". as engine has started to surge at lower rpm's, with synching now all smooth again.

Speaking of Ohlins shocks what a difference from stockers that were on this 2004 R1150RT-P with 106K, even with old rear shock that I serviced with oil, the Ohlins shocks were from ebay for my exact model, the sag, ride height ,etc. were right in the ball park on install. Very happy with that, Wonder if the dealers that service the "P'" never change the shocks? @ the 25-30K? even if the front shock has a different part # for the -P being heavier.

I think I posted this before 65 Lbs can be removed from CHP 2004 -P model and 2nd seat installed as I weighted every removed part.
