How do I attach photos to this forum. Please advice in great detail.

1. Choose an online service that will host your photos. I use photobucket, but there are many web-based options available (including FTP via ISP). "Hosting" just means that you upload your photo file onto the service's computer, where the file can be accessed later by someone who wants to download the file for viewing on their own computer.


2. Upload your photos to the service. Make sure you have an unlocked/public album or folder; in order for others to download your image files, the storage location must be available for access. As an example, my "R1150R" album is unlocked for public access (so you can see the pics in the message), but I have others that I've chosen to lock from public viewing.




3. Get the photo's file URL link from your hosting service. Here's an image from my R1150R album, with a dialog box supplied by photobucket that shows the "Direct Link" to the image file's location on photobucket's computer. I simply <CTRL+C> copied the link onto my computer's clipboard for use in the next step.




4. To post an image within a message on the R1150R board, just click on the "Img" button, which places the HTML image code at the cursor location:




5. Paste your image file's Direct Link (or whatever the hosting service calls the URL) in between the "img" and "/img" markers:




6. And here's what the user sees within his or her browser, when original image file is supplied by the hosting service, along with the other stuff that makes up a web page:




That's it! You can click Preview to make sure that the image file transfer is working, and that the photo appears as you want.
If you right-click on the above image, your web browser probably allows you to get the image's attributes (using Firefox, I have the option to "View Image Info"), and you can then see that the image file is indeed being sourced from (hosted by) photobucket's server.

But I think I can help a lot of you guys with the electrical diagrams of the 1150 RT.

Posting these diagrams here would be nice but simply a copyright infringement hence a no-go.

From my perspective if the diagrams are part of a repair manual, factory or otherwise and they will not be used to gain a profit (sell them) there is no copyright infringement, at least that has been my experience.

Any subject matter experts that can chime in ?????

You can print them out and tape them to your screen but then they only work for you.

Seriously, poke around a little and you'll find it isn't too bad. And you can't mess anything up so don't worry about that. Try right-clicking on the image after you've uploaded it to the service and you'll usually get a pop-up menu. One of the choices is usually "Copy URL". That would be the one.

Not really. This message board does not have file storage, so you cannot directly upload a photo file for use within message. The only thing stored in the message board system is text and simple formatting.

In order to include a photo within your message, you must add text (HTML code) that "points" to your image file stored somewhere else on the internet. In that way, your final message will show both the text stored within the message board, and the photo file(s) you have stored elsewhere.

There are community message board systems that can store both the text and image information that users input/upload, but that's not how this particular message board works. Doug can correct me if my interpretation is incorrect.
