Hi there,

do you mean the sidepipe made by a German company called BSM? See the product here http://www.bsm-exhausts.de/images/prodsheet/6359.pdf

But I believe production has been suspended simply because this exhaust did eat away plenty of HPs and torque ...

I believe it was a modification of some kind to one of those muffler tail pipe chrome short turn down/out that are available in auto supply stores like Auto Zone /Advance auto.. pretty sure they cut a slice in the end that enabled it to slide over the cat end and then secured with a clamp, Not sure if the stock clamp was used though.. Kinda simple but was looking for some input maybe from someone that had tried it.. What are the negatives to the motor or power curve when removing the stock can? & thank you for you reply.. You need an inch and three-quarter exhaust tip with a slight down-turn from an auto shop. Cut to length and cut a couple of short clamping slots. Then grab a stainless steel band clamp to hold it in place. Ran mine on the R1150R for about 130,000 kms. Have now got it on my R1150GSA. Main reason was to use a full-size left case. It isn't all that noisy and has zero effect on running if the cat is still in place. Some of the over-run 'popping' is more evident as it's not muffled by the can (funny, that!).

Anyway - This is the clamp I used:

And this is the pipe on my R:

And just for you - A special view of the whole thing on my GSA!

You just need to take the stock can/exhaust off (takes 5-10 minutes) and just ride it up to your local auto store or exhaust shop and buy an exhaust tip and clamp.. Easy peasy.. Mines been like this for almost 10 years without a problem and sounds great without being too loud.. I use the same clamp as MIXR.
