engine tick

just started my bike up getting it ready for spring and noticed a tick coming from the engine. would that be my beutiful beast telling me its time for a valve adjustment?

probably. when was the last valve adj? if you think about it, a tick is better than a flea. with those you have set off a bomb, wear a collar, and use powder. some even use a greasy substance rubbed on the back of the neck. sorry, couldn't resist.

sounds like cam chain, mine started to tick around 27000 miles and lh one was realy slack and slapping against cyclinder, had both replaced and service by local mobile mechanic for around the £200 mark, think he used uprated parts as oe is known to fail.

Start with a simple valve service, T/B Sync and tune up. If you've got everything dialed in and still have some noises out of the ordinary, dig further.
