Hey Guys,
This topic was being discussed in another thread that I kind of hijacked so I figured I'd start another thread here. Basically these devices allow you to set your air fuel ratio richer than the overly lean stock settings. The unit works amazingly well on the R1200 bikes. I have had one on my bike for 1500 miles now and it runs better than when I had my Dobeck controller on it.Much better low end pull, smoother power and better acceleration throughout the rev range. Allows you to easily ride a gear higher than you normally would. My company, Beemerboneyard, sells them so of course I might be biased but we also sell the Dobeck controllers and these work better (Dobecks are on close out sale ), You can see and or order them from this link: http://www.beemerboneyard.com/bmwafo2sema.html
Ask your questions here and I will do my best to answer them or get an answer if I don't know. Thanks!
mike

I don't think my bike needs it. I don't think it runs TOO lean like my 1100 did.
I have black on the back of the muffler. Been that way since new.
My lower plugs run darker than the uppers, so its gotta be close to correct.

OOPS! too much cutting and pasting. Here is the link to the corrected R1200 version: http://www.beemerboneyard.com/bmwafxied1200.html .
David, I agree that the 1200 series bikes are better than the older 1100 and 1150 bikes in the fueling department (I own one of each) but until you have ridden a 1200 that has been richened up a little you really can't imagine how much better they run and how much more enjoyable the riding experience is.
