Factory heated grip question
I installed factory heated grips on my wife's 2013 R1200R. Really easy to do, replace the 2 grips and right switch cluster with new pieces. All the connectors are there. Only problem is they don't work. Does anybody know what else has to be done to energize the circuit? According to the wiring diagram power comes from the ZFE electronics unit.
Re: Factory heated grip question
Just a guess, but perhaps the ZFE needs to be recoded so it will allocate power to the grips. If that is correct, then it seems odd that the instructions would not tell you so.

Re: Factory heated grip question
Well, I didn't have any instructions so maybe that's it. Surely the ground leads are connected.

I also imagine a trip to the dealer to have them program the bike to let it know that it now has heated grips is required. It will be interesting (OK sickening) to know what they charge for that.

+1 MTBeemer's comment.
Can you imagine the dealer saying to himself, Got'cha!
