De-Beaked

I have been thinking about swapping the front fender for something else ever since i bought this bike. Finally found a cheap K1200RS fender on ebay so I pulled the trigger. It was silver and I figured it'd be tough to match the yellow unless i took it to a pro. i opted instead to plastidip it black. Pretty happy with how it came out. The black matches all of the other matte black parts on the bike. I really dig how the front fender gets lost in the front tire now. It definitely doesn't stick out like the old one. Now i need to go back a plastidip the inner fender to match it.

I like the beak. its part of the "you know its a BMW" at a glance" fondness I have, for the 1150r.

But Ive also seen a couple of these done and it looks sleek.

No lie, that side view...looks like a bird

LIke I said, I like the beak. but a beak thats bright "corvette yellow" as you said.... i wouldnt miss it if it were gone.

The Beak is the best part of owning the R1150R. Long live the Beaker Bash!!!!

I like my beak albeit it is already in black like my bike. I thought the beak was essential for the cooling aerodynamics?
Will certainly be a talking point with other BMW riders and looks good in a non-beaky way.

I was also under the impression, that the shape of the ' beak ' was to direct air flow into the oil coolers .
