Future parts availability

Anyone care to hazard a guess as to how many more years parts & components will be available?

I just stumbled across a R1150R that needs a new owner and I might just be the guy, but I'd rather not get stuck hunting for critical
componentry for a 12 year old machine.

I wouldn't worry about it for the next 10 years. Ebay always seems to have stuff. Regular maintenance should not be a problem either.

For the record I sold my 04 r1150r and got an 07 GS. I just bought an 04 Rockster and plan on selling the GS. I am not too worried about parts. With the possible exception of the anti lock brake part that tends to go bad.

My new one does not have ABS.

If Airhead owners still have easy access to parts, then it seems that Oilhead riders should enjoy many, many years of parts-abundance ownership due to the volume of R11** motorcycles produced over a dozen years.

A riding buddy is rebuilding a basketcase K75, and I was surprised to see the (relative) complexity of the K compared to our R1150R Roadsters and Rocksters. The naked R bikes are simple & solid.

I doubt that will be an issue in my lifetime.
