Yes I can’t either!! Obviously I’m biased as it’s mine but cheers for posting those pics as I’m too much of a dino to do it my self on this particular forum!!
Wheels to follow in Ice blue when my old friend finishes setting up his new bead blasting shop in Bradford as he’ll need the practice (he’ll hit me for that comment) then on with the colour and some fresh rubber. Whilst I’m at his blasting shop I’ll get my down pipes blasted (as the chrome has well gone), side/centre stands and brake torque arm too I think.
The logo? I just got them made from a local vinyl sign maker in Keighley West Yorkshire. I originally was going to use a gold R1150 with a red ‘R’ to finish off but it would have been too many colours if you include the blue, bronze and dark anthracite so I had two sets made, latter one being the ‘all red’.
The bike started green so it had the ‘white’ logo but it wouldn’t have looked right if I kept the white.
In all fairness the green just didn’t go with the blue frame and I really hated it. I did lust after the copper orange version but at the time there wasn’t any at the right price. It was a Sunday afternoon paint job where I could no longer stand it!!
The original flat black versions weather to an "hurriedly applied primer" look. Even the white Edition 80 paint was excessively EU-friendly and lost its gloss quickly.
Satins and matts in my view tend to be more high maintenance than a deep gloss when older and it’s a fashion phase for designers to do when all else is done. A deep gloss still has a feeling of luxury about it and it’s shine highlights shapes very well.
Having the rims match really sets off that ice blue! I like the look. I always thought my gloss black bike would look nice with silver Rockster graphics. I believe I saw an 80th anniversary Rockster photo on this forum that was black with white (or silver) graphics rather than the white with the black graphics we had in the U.S.
I think it looks great.
The only thing I'm not sure on is the red bead around the wheels. It probably looks better in the metal, but I'm not sure that little detail 'fits'.
Well I’m looking forward to another year with the ‘Ice Blue’. I treated myself to an F800gt a few months ago as I do like a frugal bike but it’s time to ride the ‘Torque’ and feel the shove even though it’s crap on fuel @ only 35mpg or less!

Yes, I'm on that group. The yellow one was excellent!
