Soft Tailpack
Anyone from Oz here who has fitted a tailpack on their standard BMW rack? It is the silver bit that bolts between the grab rails -come-systems luggage rails. I ask specifically for local input as overseas naming/ marketing can vary. Any one ?

I have this one that I got from a local shop in Melbourne...it sits more on the rear seat and a little on the rack.
It was very cheap compaired to others..(about $100)..it's actualy a tank bag..I just fold the magnetic flaps under..and fits perfect.
It also opens up big enough to fit a fullface helmet inside.
If you want to carry a pillion you will need the genuine BMW one...it's mega bucks...much smaller and hangs more off the back.

I've got the 'official' BMW softbag -- it came with the bike (along with panniers and tankbag). I have no idea how much they cost separately but all I can say is it's brillliant. It secures onto the rack in seconds, and it can be locked onto the bike (although the contents are not secure). It's quite roomy, takes a folded up bike jacket, camera, water bottle, etc. It works so well for me that most of the time it's the only luggage I use -- hook the panniers up for a trip, but I've never used the tankbag yet because I haven't needed it. Rock solid when you're on the move too.
To sum up, like all genuine Beemer accessories I'm sure it's expensive, but it sure works well!

I have the BMW Soft-bag too. I like it a lot. 
you can get a weekends (lightweight) clothing into it quite easily, or a laptop and office clothes.
Just don't let it get wet!!! The "stiffener" inside is only cardboard and takes up an odd shape if the bag gets soaked : I left mine on once when taking it for a service. The shop left the bike outside and it heaved it down - because the bag didn't have it's showercap on it leaked

I've got an Oxford bag which of course I don't know if you can get downunder. But it fits either to the seat of the silver bmw rack. It's very secure as there is a strap which slips through the loops in the side rails and under the rack. It is big and yellow but they do have a big range. I also have the tank bag which fits without magnets or ca be zipped off to leave a map pocket and fixed to the seat instead.

Just to clarify, the BMW bag does come with it's own little "showercap" -- I haven't had to use it, but it does look like it would do the job of keeping it waterproof -- as long as you remember to put it on!

Aftermarket Panniers
Hi There! I'm a new Rockster owner 
and was wondering if anyone has tried aftermarket panniers on their Rockster? I've seen the "Joe Rocket" soft sided ones in cycle shops, but havent seen any installed. Nothing against the BMW system cases, but at $450.Cdn each, there kinda pricey.
Any help from you experienced Rockster owners would be appreciated. I also need to decide on a windshield for highway riding, but no rush for that as its -16 C (-3.5 F) here right now.
