Yet ANOTHER GS handguard question (groan...)

OK, not to beat the subject to death or anything, but I have a question I haven't seen addressed yet: I know the GS handguards are not supposed to work with the Aeroflow tank wings (something about clearance, I'd guess?), BUT .... has anyone tried the combination of
-GS handguards and
-Aeroflow tank wings and
- bar backs, specifically, the Moto-Techniques?

I'm wondering if by having the barbacks installed I'll get a bit more clearance from the Aeroflow tank wings, and the wings and handguards won't interfere with each other. Reason I ask is because I need to do something to keep the cold off my hands, and I'm getting ready to maybe order up some handguards - BMW, Wunderlich, something else, like maybe Hippo Hands - and the heated grips aren't cutting it for me. They're fine at low speeds, but once I reach open road cruising speed on a 30- or 40-degree F morning, they are quickly overwhelmed by the wind, and my fingers end up freezing.

Here's just another option to help out for when it's really cold...and for only $20.. ....imagine how warm they'd be with your heated grips on..

It's a very cheap option and would be much warmer than any other normal handgaurds...

Thanks, DJ. I've seen these "generic" grip covers discussed over at the Advrider forum, and the consensus seems to be to avoid these cheaper thingies and go for the real deal with Hippo Hands. Seems the generics tend to cave in with wind pressure as you get up to speed, whereas the Hippo Hands don't, they retain enough support so as to not press on your levers and still give you adequate room in there for your hands to work the controls. I'm leaning toward Hippo Hands, they come highly regarded over there at ADvrider.com, supposedly they install and remove in seconds, keep the wind off your hands, and increase the effectiveness of the heated grips. Plus I don't think they would interfere with the Aeroflow tank wings.

Yeah, where I live, EVERYTHING's got to be in camo, even your best Sunday-go-to-meetin' duds had better be in camo. Ya never know, you just might see somethin' worth shootin' on yer way to church!

I have the GS hand guards and Moto-Techniques bar backs on my 03 R. Have had bar backs for nearly 3 yrs and 2 yrs for the hand guards. Both I love. The guards I would not do without and run them all year. I guess I could take them off in the summer but what the heck.

The guards are a life saver in the winter. Would not run without them.
