I do realize that the front brake pads are not tight against the rotor when no brake pressure is applied, however, should they be so loose as to make a rattling noise while riding? I have been hearing this for a couple of weeks now, at first couldn't pinpoint the noise. It is the front brake pads. They work just fine when braking, but seem to make the rattling noise while riding. I can stick my finger in the caliper and they move rather easily. Shouldn't they be a little snug? The rear doesn't seem to be doing this, only the front. The pads aren't worn enough to need replacement, just in case someone wants to know.
Thanks

No i don't think that they should rattle. the pads should ride Very (read touching) close to the rotor, without applying pressure. I would check the rotors to see if they are warped or bent. Is the wheel bearing tight? Calipers tight? How thin are the pads?
sounds pretty scary to me, I would put this on my high priority list.

I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray...
