Moving to Portland - how's the dealership?

Post by meistre »

It appears that Portland Motorcycle is the only BMW motorcycle dealership in the metro area. Correct? Anyone have any insights into what I might expect with their service department and such?

Yes, Portland Motorcycle is unfortunately the only show in town for now.

I ride 2 plus hours to Eugene to get my bike seviced. All of the techs there are BMW trained, the owners actually ride, they have pride in the brand and stand by the product and their service.

I have heard too many stories about PMC to trust them with my bike. I have also been treated too poorly there to be happy about giving them my money. The only thing I have them do is change my tires, after I take them off the bike. I wont let them service my bike.

The good news is that the winds of change have started to blow and by any luck, come spring time, we will have a choice.

Just checked the web site today of the Eugene BMW dealer. They are opening a shop in Tigard, just south of Portland, off of Hwy 217 and Hwy 99, very easy access.

Why yikes? Too far or? I have had nothing but good experiences with them. Everytime I go to PMC, I dont get treated well and have seen them be rude to other customers. To each his own I guess.

Eugene BMWOR is a top notch outfit IMO. Hansen's BMW in Medford is also an excellent dealership.

The ride to Hansen's is a distance from Portland, but the many of getting there makes it a great destination.

Also . . . you could consider riding the 145 miles north to South Sound BMW in Tacoma, WA. I have had very good experiences dealing with them. The staff is great.
