Sorry, I dont mean to be cynical but I weigh 170ish (12 stones) and only achieved around 7,000 miles out of a rear z6 and I run 42 psi. I enjoy a little speed but I dont think I am that aggressive and I have to search for any twisty roads in this neck of the woods.
So whats the difference or secret?
It very well might be the roads. On a road trip to Wisconsin, I was amazed at how comparatively rough the roads were there--apparently due to the tough winters. In the past, I've gotten much higher miles on my tires than my (less weighty) friends who live up north.
On the other hand, I've had to replace twice as many rear tires (I've got two other bikes) due to puctures because of all the housing construction in my area (hex head screws be damned). My last puncture, I only had about a thousand miles on the clock. Yikes!!
On my usual roads around here, my tyres wear smooth and relatively even. On my last trip up through the Northern Territory and Western Australia, my tyres wore with very rougth patterning and very unevenly.
Why you ask? The road surface was extremely coarse and sharp. I think I would have been lucky to get half my usual mileage out of the tyres, simply due to the roughness of the surface. It was very tyre unfriendly.
So - The surface makes as big a difference as temperature of the day and road temp, tyre pressure, bike speed, and load carried.
I've had a mate get 2/3 the mileage out of a set of Avons because he rides harder than me. And I ride pretty hard anyway. We did many trips together, so it was not 'different roads' to any great extent.
You just can't compare mileage out of tyres unless you travel the same roads at the same time with the same loads. Even then, the right wrist and braking technique can still make huge differences.

I run 38psi F, 40psi R in my Z6 tires and they last 10K miles (16,093km). I'm 150lbs (68.0kg)and my throttle hand moves slowly and gently . . . . . as if caressing a woman . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . like my wonderful wife.
Although I was a little disappointed with only 7,000 miles, I liked the grip the z6 tires provide me in all conditions so I put another one on the rear a week ago . I'll have to try the slow carressing accleration and imagine my wife for extra motivation. I get walloped when I cross the line!
Your certainly right about our roads, especially the old two lane county roads which are what I spend my time on. Oh well, I still love the prairie.
