I belong to a consortium of fashionistas :D A pink seat would warrant a ride to Texas for some corrective action :D

After reading the recent posts, I almost thought I had accidently logged onto a HD board, with all the talk of fashion and such!!!

I almost would prefer another oil/battery/do you mount your own tires thread.

Cheers...

That was good, John.

I wouldn't anger the Roadster gods, or bring disgrace on the RR with a Pink seat.

Light grey and silver don't look/match good with the granite grey color of my bike either. You don't realize how many different shades of grey there are until you start trying to match something up with it.

I'm re-covering it in a marine grade vinyl with a carbon fiber look called Charcoal grey, but it looks more like a steel grey or gun metal grey to me. And this is just for a change up. Like I said, I like the tan seat very much. However, on long trips with luggage (and maybe one day a tent) strapped to it, the tan gets marked up pretty badly. I want to keep the tan seats as pristine as I can since there are not many in the US. The grey seat will be used mainly when I need to strap things to it or when traveling and the when my bike will be sitting outside mostly.

So carbon fiber is the new pink? Quick alert Paris Hilton (c/o LA County Jail?)

I like the gun metal grey thought. But agree with you and the others, the tan is striking. Plus, one bonus of the R is it's not found on every corner. The tan makes yours even more rare.

My bike originally had tan seats(before it was my bike), but there was a guy who bought an Edition 80 Rockster fron the shop and he wanted the tan seats. The shop switched the seats out for him. I thought tan seats on a rockster looked a little goofy, but he liked it.

In an effort to keep the tan seat looking good, I re-covered a mis-matched spare seat and picked it up yesterday. I ordered Charcoal Grey marine grade vinyl from an internet site thinking I could do the work myself, but it had a blue tint to it when placed right next to the my bike (Granite Grey '05 r1150r), and once I started trying to take the old cover off, I realized I was in over my head. The guy I ended up taking it to suggested adding some black trim on the sides to make it flow with the bike better. I deffered to his judgment since he does this for a living and he did it at a great price. The grey/black color will hide the grime and dirt and marks that get on the seat from regular wear and other material fading onto it, allowing me to keep the tan seats in great condition since the bike came orginally with them

The seats turned out great! Looks custom but subtle...me likes. Of course it's your bike and if your happy with it that's all that really matters ;)

I don't like the color of the seat. There needs to be more of a contrast between the seat and the bike's paint. Of course, it could be the photo.

Just my 2 cents.

Nicely done, Gypsy!! :D

One of the few women not easily intimidated -- I have HUGE respect for you!!

Thanks for all the pics -- I think that raises the bar a bit (I have a hard enough time just doing one thing right at a time -- let alone three!).

GREAT WORK~Helmets off to ya'!!

The Roadster Gods are pleased. I know. I had a dream last night and one told me that tan seats are on the way out.

I love the two-tone grey! Where can I send mine to have it done?

You've only made a great looking bike better! :)

BTW Gypsy, can you tell me something about those very nice auxiliary lights you have fitted? I think they look really good, especially in the position you've mounted them.
