I ordered my bike with a tall seat, and am wondering what it looks like. Any photos out there you can post?

Sweet bike, Klink. And beautiful settings as well. It makes me wish that I'd seen more of the countryside around Sindney when I was there in 1969. Oh well...enough reminisence, back to bikes.

Did you, or anyone, consider lowering the pegs instead of getting the higher seat? Kits are for sale to drop the pegs for about $180.00 USD. I'm 5' 11" and have the standard seat. I would like a little extra leg room, but I don't know if a high seat or lower pegs is the answer.

Thanks,
Rich

Not me Rmak, I got the seat at purchase, so it was free.

Did you visit Sydney as part of US Forces to Vietnam? Just asking because I have an ex- work colleague who visited at that time, for that reason. Seems he spent most of his time in pubs, trying to pick up girls. Was that your objective too?

Yes, Mr. Klink. I was there on R & R from Vietnam. And yes, I had the same agenda as your colleague at the time.

I do have regrets not seeing more of your beautiful land when I had the chance. But, I was 20 years old. What did I know?

Thank you for inquiring. And my apologies to all for going off on a tangent.

How much of a drop are you looking for?
If it's only about an inch, then you can do that for around $40 incl. S&H (via ebay - less if you have a dealer close by).

Get a set of Buell XB pegs, as they have a drop in their design and no rubber pad. Then grind down about 1/8 to get them to fit into the BMW peg "holder". The way they are cast, grinding a little bit off does not weaken them enough to be an issue (I weigh about 250 and stand on them regularly.) Here's a link to a set that also shows their design: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buell-XB ... dZViewItem

I rode on the standard seat for a few hundred miles until the tall seat arrived. There is enough difference that my knees and hips are happier. I still might need an aftermarket seat, but that is for my butt.

I have lowered the pegs on other bikes with good results. However, this bike loves to lean so easily I would hesitate to make any mods which reduce the clearance.

I ordered the bike with the tall seat, and I've already got the Remus Powercone full exhaust system and Suburban Machinery peg lowering kit waiting for it. It's supposed to arrive in another week or two.

Waiting patiently.......NOT! :D

Thank you for the photos!
