Rob,
I like the bike. I always sit on one whenever I am at the dealer. I'm just being a good boyfriend and doing some preliminary shopping for Amy.
If you take the plunge, Enjoy it.

Rob,
Great choice. The first time I got on an F800ST, I was surprised at how much the seating position felt like my KS. And the lighter weight is not a small thing for someone pushing 60. (That would be me, not you.) And the champaigne color is one of BMW's best, rich and unique.

WOW! Some of you have it really bad!
I'll stick with the one thats paid for and just lust after the new ones!!!When my FD goes out , then maybe I'll have a kitchen pass coming my way...

Mine was paid for when the FD bearing went. Still cheaper to fix it! Still love the bike. I am a long ways from changing rides!
Now
adding rides - that is a different story!

Rob's like me, he doesn't want that chain drive. I don't know why in God's name they chose to depart from the pattern of using the belt on this series! I understand it on the GS...But not this one.

The chain is probably cheaper to manufacture, and it allows you to change the gearing easier than the belt. Changing the gearing would be advantagous if the bike is used as a track bike.
