I almost sold my R due to buffeting. But after cutting down my Z-Technik screen to the right height, the buffeting disappeared. I'm 5'6", inseam is 30". This is what worked for me: I sat on the bike and took a yardstick straight out from my arm pits and placed a mark on the screen. Then I made a new mark 2.5" below that, which is where a friend cut it. It's much shorter but still looks good and most importantly, works!
Now there is less noise, but I still wear ear plugs.

I originally wanted a sport screen but waited long enough for a touring screen to be put up for sale here for a great price. I didn't like the way it caused buffeting and noise in my helmet. I made a tilt block and that cured most of it. I now have a sport screen on the way so I will be able to see how it works in comparison. My tilt block is just under 0.5", I am 5-11 and 30" inseam using the low seat.
