Thanks for the response. Is it that your Sargent seat has a different shape that keeps you scooted abit more back? Or it is just flatter overall?
Thx.

I just realized that I hadn't answered your question and I apologize. Yes the seat is flatter overall and does not dip down like the stock seat. It also is higher than the stock seat (not much, maybe 1") but much much more comfortable. And the quality is very good. I have bar backs as well, much better on my back and wrists. Had no difficulty with install (had them on '03 and current '04). +1 on adjusting ti-wraps.

Yes, cycle shorts would help a lot. Did a 1000 mile weekend trip recently and luckily the standard set-up fits me just fine. Mind you my nurse tells me I have lost an inch since I was last measured. So maybe I have reached the optimal size.

So I put new bar backs on the Blue Beakster. 1" up and 1.25" back. I was able to do it with no problem with enough cable that came standard on my 02 r1150r. It helped my seat position and comfort a bunch! Just FYI...

Hey gang-
I put bar backs on my r1150r. 1" up and 1.25" back. No problem with cables. Wow, what a difference. At first it was ungainly, but after a few miles it became much more comfortable and helped seat issue a bit as well. Unfortunately, here in central pa we have 3 " of snow so it may be awhile for long ride.

All this talk of crushed man bits it puzzling. I may get a sore tail bone on a long trip but have never felt that I have slid forward on my standard seat. My seat is not polished now (made that mistake once) and my leathers kind of adhere in a gentle way to the seat and I can grip the tank with my knees. So I suggest that you clean your seat of polish and do not wear slippery clothing as a starter.
