GeoffJ, how do you like your Corbin seat and did you buy it new?

I bought my bike used and the Corbin saddle was included. I love it! The sides of the seat are vinyl covered and the top is perforated leather. The leather breathes quite well in warm weather, although I still use a sheepskin on long rides. The rear half of the seat has a provision for a Corbin backrest.

Is there any corbin sit for R1100R? I would like to see if there are any picture. I find that the seat is ok for me except the front part. There was once when a friend of mine tried my bike and comments on the uncomfortability of the seat. He feel that his balls is been squeeze.... because of the front end of the seat which curves up.

I'm sure glad that those of us who aren't "bro's" don't have the "ball squeeze" problem to deal with!

The thing I liked about the Sargent seat was that it was flatter and seemed to spread the pressure around a little more. As opposed to putting all the pressure in one spot. And it allows you more room to move around. Does the Corbin feel similar?

Yap, Singapore sure is a clean city because of all the fines implemented by the government. In our country chewing gums were banded from bring in, but there are still some that are willing to take the risk. Littering, spitting, smoking in banded areas.... all carries a minimum $500 fine. There is no doubt that singapore is a beautiful country, the only set back is that this country is too small for bikers. The longest end of singapore from east to west by riding can be covered in less then 1½hours.

I lived in Germany from 97 to 01, and remember seeing R1100s all over--it was a pretty popular bike as I recall.

For some reason, naked bikes/roadsters aren't very popular with Americans like they are all over the rest of the world--kinda like soccer.

Never mind about the others, as long as you are one proud owner, its enough... sometime I might be selfish because I don't like to see too many same bikes on the streets.... I want to be the unique one

My seat looks like this one except it's all black and the seat bottom is made of perforated leather. I also don't have the optional backrests.

I am currently looking for maker for this seat, but I have approached one and the quotation is quite expensive. I was quote $200+(Singapore dollars) which is roughly around US$125. Is it expensice?

I called to order a Givi Top box and mounting hardware and much to my surprise they dont make the hardware to mount the bag! So after reading through the forum I to am already feeling like the step child. Has any one else mounted a trunk/topbox w/a backrest? If not what backrest w/lugage racks are available?

So after reading through the forum I to am already feeling like the step child. Has any one else mounted a trunk/topbox w/a backrest? If not what backrest w/lugage racks are available?

Conglate on your new rides.
Regarding the top box, I am using a givi maxia top but because my pillion usually hugs onto me therefore I have never think of getting a back rest. I guess you can alway modify and put padding on the top box for the pillion to lean onto but I am not sure if the base plate can take the leaning force of your pillion or not. Givi do comes with 2 types of base plate, the plastic base plate and the cast iron base plate. I think the cast iron one will be a better choice for strength. Whereas for me I can't get the cast iron base plate and thus settle for the plastic one. Although it is plastic but it had secure my top box through the most toughest terrain I have ever went. Cambodia.

I found out today that givi used to make the hardware to mount the box but no longer makes the mounting hardware! I guess my best bet is to look for a used set. Thanks for your input. Seeing yours makes me green with envy!

Yeah I feel your pain there brother (or sister dont want to make the same mistake as another did earlier!! ) I had to resort to Ebay to get a Givi E450 case. Had to get into a bit of a bidding war and ended up paying an almost new price for a well used (tho certainly not abused, it was in great shape) piece of luggage.

I seemed to have lost my pics of my 95 Red R1100 with the case mounted. One word of warning if you do come across one without instructions. If you do not have a gift for spatial relationships (ie twisting and turning pieces to align them) FIND SOMEONE WHO IS SO TALENTED. Took me 3 days (a couple hours each before I would get totally frustrated and walk away) to figure out how to lay out the parts and get it mounted correctly.

Once attached tho it really is a useful item. I would usually stow my full face and my other jacket, leather or mesh, depending on weather and conditions. There would still be room on top for some misc items like rain gear, freeing up room in my tank bag. I dont keep it on when commuting but if I'm taking off for more than a day or two, its an invaluable item for any rider. Good Luck!!

I am wondering how do you make sure the safety of the box. Currently in singapore, there is an increasing trend in thieves for the boxes.

However, the bike itself has been great - especially since I added a Techlusion and a Remus Gran Prix can and cat eliminator pipe.

Did the Techlusion improve the rideability of your R1100R? Specifically, did it improve cold starts? Mine is about the most cold-blooded animal I have owned in a long, long time.

BTW, I chose an R1100R over an R1150R because I prefer the looks...and I got a smokin' deal!!

Mine has the Givi A755 flyscreen. I think it's a universal fit as opposed to model-specific. It works really well. Since mine's a '99 it has the "facelift" instrument cluster, but I don't see why this wouldn't work with yours as well.

I don't think it will work with earlier models like my '96, which have the separate clock and tach pods. I'll look into it, however. Where did you buy your fairing? How effective is the fairing for wind protection?

The 2 piece windscreen is the one I am looking into. total height is 530mm.
