Maybe she was riding for Breast Cancer awareness...you know..pink ribbon and all that?

I did one charity ride last summer -- Gooch's Garlic Run. There were thousands of bikes in it, and I honestly believe there were only two or three BMW's. We rode from a shopping mall in New Jersey on the highway through the Holland Tunnel into the Little Italy section of New York City. Because Gooch is a cop, the ride was officially police escorted the whole way. They closed off interstate 80 in NJ, and the Holland Tunnel, to let us through.

It was very slow and congested, but I enjoyed having dinner in NYC with my wife, her sister and my brother-in-law, and some friends of ours. My wife liked it and wants to do it again, so what the heck. I view it as a social event, not a ride.

I did 63 miles in 4.5 hours once. Good cause, nice folks, too many stops for too long. It was an "interesting" experience. I will not be buying a Harley in this lifetime.

Good point, however most of my social calender (insert hysterical laughter here) is less dangerous than a ride over twisty roads with incompetent riders!

Probably me either. I have lots of friends doing the midlife crisis thing jumping on the Harley bandwagon. They won't ride with me. Some concern about me leaving them behind or something like that.

Doubt I will do as yleesvrr has done and have both!

I am sure your social life is more better than mine!

My charity ride was on highways that they closed off, so it was not as dangerous. In fact, the streets were lined with people cheering us, which was a strange experience. I was focused on not hitting the bike in front of me (my brother-in-law) so I did not pay much attention to it. This give you some idea of what it was like
