Nancy on the R on a short ride today, did some great comparison riding the same stretch of road along with some suspension tuning on her bike.
Before I had my suspension rebuilt, I thought our bikes handled about the same.... now with fresh Ohlins and a new Ohlins damper there's no real comparison between the two BMW R bikes, 12R wins hands down for fun factor and smoothness... (8R also has Ohlins shock and fork springs to be fair) Sorry F series, you're still sexy and sound good though! .
I didn't really get a good shot of both the bikes at the same time.

Also, do you have any photos of the mounts? Is it easy to install and take off the guards, so it could be done when needed?"
Yes, they work well for riding in cold, and in cold rain.
About the mounting, please find a few pictures.

nylife - I remember seeing that bike for sale on the internet from a shop in Arizona. I really wanted to buy it but the timing was a bit off. Interesting to see that they would rent it. Anyway, it looked like a sweet ride, so much so that when the timing was right, I ended up with something eerily similar....but I really did like the combo of plain silver and black wheels.

Lost in a sea of chrome....
No better way to convert gasoline into noise without that thing known as Horse Power though.
I would comment on the other very beautiful photos you posted, but they are in the KEEP QUIET photo thread.

Thanks for sharing!
rochsan, thanks for the photos, I think I was talking about those clear hand guards, so you have any of those?
What's that, an iPhone mount? Looks that would work well too.

That guy with the cigarette has no idea he's parked behind the only bike that counts in that group.

OH great, another shiny new, sexy, super-cam 12R with a single white stripe and spoked wheels.... and an Akro pipe. Just what we need.
Welcome to the forum, I agree about gravity!
