I just rode back on the Harley last night from New Jersey back to Southwest VA, so I missed out on some of these posts until late today after work.

If I were to go on what group of motorcyclists make the worst impression, I'd have to say it is the squiddies, hands down. These punks perform all kinds of idiotic stunts and otherwise make the word motorcyclist an insult.

Regarding customization, I've spent less money on the Harley than I have on the Roadster. Once I add bags to the HD, I will have spent roughly the same amount. I don't see the point of adding things that will induce me to wash my bike all the time. I've washed my HD once since I bought it in June. My Roadster and SV650 are washed about 4 times a year.

Posting pics of a Road King wiping out at Deal's Gap may prove a certain point, but the bikes I see crashed there most often are GSX-Rs, CBRs, and Ninjas. Does that mean these are even more dangerous in the curves? Having said that, I never understood people taking touring bikes and full dressers through "The Dragon."

Finally, life is too big for us to make the choice of ride determine our behavior toward other human beings. Renegade obviously had an unspoken agenda, and if he leaves more power to him. I will now make a point of visiting Dallara on my Harley and blipping the throttle at 7 a.m. in front of his house and asking him to go for a ride

I'm ready, Yong!

I'm ready, Yong!

I'll even ride with ya' down to "Knuckleheads"... Our local Harley hangout beer and BBQ place. It is in an old converted Greyhound bus station, and the place does have a lot of character. I spin down there with some of my Harley riding buddies all the time. I get some funny looks (mine is the only BMW I have ever seen there) and even some cracks about it... But not near as much flak as the poor unsuspecting soul that rides up on a Metric Cruiser! The H-D crowd rags on those guys unmercifully.

You'll love the place!

Hell, why don't you ride down to Big Bend next weekend and go riding with us there? There's gonna' be Beemer's, Honda's, Triumph's, and even Harley's!

Take care!

Dallara - Thanks for the invite! Unfortunately, I have plans for the next few weekends. I have a business associate who rides in Austin. How 'bout a visit next spring?

Next Spring...

Next Spring, Yong?

You got it!!! :smt023

Some buddies and I are already tossing about the idea of another Big Bend ride in the spring, and we always have several rides in the Hill Country in late February, March, April, and May. It would be great to have you down... Make it for a few days and bring *ALL* your bikes and I'll round up as many of my buddies with different bikes as I can round up... And by then I'll likely have a 2006 Yamaha FJR-1300-A as well as my R-1150-R. I'll try to have 'em both along... :D

It'll be great to have ya' visit! =D>

Cheers!
