gearbox rear oil seal

Hi,
My 04 R1150R was in for an inspection before a 5500km run recently. The mechanic said I had a small oil weep from the rear gearbox seal. Not going to cause a major problem on the run he said. I took a light and noted the amount of 'weep". Mainly a small oil smear on the boot and a bit of a dirty mark on the gearbox. No oil drips or marks on the swing arm or running down the gearbox.
The bike was serviced at 31000km and no comment about a weep noted. The weep was noted at an inspection done at 36000km.
After the tour there does not appear to be any increase in the dirty area around the rubber boot. Oil level in the box appears just below the threads but i looked at this cold - I will have to look at warmed up.
Anyone else had rear gearbox seal problems?
The bike is under extended warranty and i possibly could get this fixed if they agree the problem still exists. There are a lot of components to be distrubed to do the rear seal and as the bike runs like a swiss watch at the moment (approx 43000km) I am a bit reluctant to have it tampered with.
What do you think?
