I've just bought into the world's-best-bike club too. I've always liked twins, having enjoyed a Ducati Monster, Aprilia Tuono and Buell XB12SS before biting the bullet and buying the beautiful BeEm.

The only thing wrong with it is the image. I keep getting the feeling I should buy a pipe and a set of Belstaffs!
20-odd years ago I had an R80, but that was a heavy, gutless thing. The R1200R is sublime. I ride very bumpy back roads around Sydney, mostly to keep off the roads the cops like. The BMW's suspension just eats them up.
My bike is quite basic, with only heated grips, the sports shield, pannier mounts, centre-stand and white indicators. I would've taken the computer, but the bikes available with computer all had ABS which I didn't want. I went past ESA because I want to buy some Ohlins kit in due course, and I read somewhere (maybe here!) that Ohlines will make replacements for the std kit, but perhaps not for the ESA stuff.
Anyhoo, love the bike. Look forward to contributing to this forum as we all go forward.
