It was National Ride to work day.

Here in the Pacific Northwest...It rained. I did my part and rode to work today.

Did You?

Yup, on the big blue scooter even though people laugh at me. Passed no other riders today. It only looked like it would rain but never did.

No...I wimped out.

I don't mind the rain but we had T-Storms with "mega-lightning", as my son calls it, all night and into the am. We got about 4.5 inches of rain in 2-3 hours causing local flash flooding too.

More rain and storms today = another cage ride today :x

We had heavy thunderstorms, and I had/have a stomach virus, so I also wimped out.

In NJ, when it rains heavily, people drive more stupidly than usual. It took me two hours to get to work yesterday, and I am glad I did not ride to work.

Yep, I did - for the first time in all the years they've been promoting this.

Why only now, when I've been riding as long (or longer) than Andy Goldfine himself? Weather, primarily .... See, July in Texas is usually scorching &^$#*&@ HOT !!! 100 degrees F is common, even normal. Yesterday it was "only" 90 deg. F on the way home. With all the rain we've had in Texas in recent weeks (perhaps you've seen the news reports of flooding), the temps have actually moderated a bit, and we're experiencing below normal temps. Of course, with all the moisture around, humidity is out of sight, and we're just now getting into mosquito and flea season. And I know that the return of 100+ days is right around the corner, but still, it was tolerable enough yesterday that this year, I could actually participate in RTW Day.

Still, no biggie for me, I ride to work a lot, so it was really nothing special for me to pull up to the "motorcycle only" parking spot in front of the building that my company so graciously provides

Yep, braved the 60% chance of Rain and didnt get a single drop. I was one of two bikes in the bike parking area at work with a building population of around 400.

Not only did I ride to work (just like every other day), but I took my son to a baseball camp (about 20 miles in the other direction) on the bike.

I have trouble riding to work since it's at the other end of the house. Can't get the minimum 15-20 miles of warm-up.

I did ride to/from clients all day -- 200 miles total.

I rode! Not exactly a thrilling commute and makes my lunch time trip to the 'Y' a little bit of a pain (time putting gear on and stowing it in a locker) but I have done it for several years.

Usually, when I ride to work, the bike is loaded up because I am leaving early for a trip! :D
