BMW R1200R R1150R/T F800 K1200R R1100R/T R1250R RnineT Message Board

Believe it or not my first BMW was a K1200LT. A nice big bike. Lots of tupperware, big windshield, cushy seat, wonderful sound system. Man, it was ceature-comfort on two wheels. But I was missing something. I kept feeling separated from the road, the wind, the smells... the bugs. So I sold the top heavy behemoth and bought a 96 R1100R. I removed the windshield, took it out for a spin and found just what I was missing. Freedom.

Say It's dark green, heated grips, ABS, bags.... !
They can take a beating.
But the 96 had a Transmission problem.
Mine was replaced under warranty and they threw in a fresh clutch as well.
There had to be a reason.
But I agree with the naked bike part.
