I just received a 1150RT and have a couple of quesions, I am only 5'7 and need a bike that is 29" max on seat height is there a way of lowering the seat anymore than now? I have it on the lowest setting and it is still too high, is there a thinner seat for this bike? I am also having problem shifting into 1st if I hold the clutch in for more than 20-30sec is this normal? Sorry for all these question and I would really not want to sell or get another bike, someone very special gave me the bike and can't part with it. I am currently riding a honda thank you

You might need a shorter rear shock unit, or you can get the seat cut down, take some thickness out and trim the edges to make it "thinner", which will help you get your legs down to the ground.

On the clutch thing - DON'T hold the clutch in for more time than it takes to change to neutral!! ;)

One thing I learnt when riding a Ducati was to change to neutral whenever stopped, it's good practise and will save on clutch wear.

Think Laterally

What about some Johnny Reb Boots with a 2-3 inch stacked heel.

I would look into a new seat. Sargent seats can be made thinner and the cut of the front is narrower which makes it easeir to get my feet on the ground.

Thanks guys! :D I will definetly look into the boots and seat. When it first arrived it was very intimidating to see let alone get on it, since it seemed so much bigger and heavier than harleys I've ridden before maybe because they are lower to the ground in any case I know I can ride this once I get it setup. Love ya' all

Roxy Ride it now all you need to do is slide your butt to the side to get a leg down. These bikes are extremely ballanced. I know because before I changed seats I could only tip toe on one foot at stops. Then I remembered riding a tall trials bike and started to slip to the side to get my foot down. Worked until I got the cash to buy a new seat. On hills I still do the motocross hip slide to get secure footing.
