Lately it is kind of hard to drag couple of camping chairs to the Rally, maybe I am getting old.
I know that the Kermit chair is number one, but over 300 bucks for two chairs!!! Does anybody have any experience with the chair like this?
I was just looking for the "LIGHT" camping chair and found this one.

IF nobody has one and Amazon does not have any reviews for it, for 20 bucks I would like to try it.

I just went through debating the Kermit or not. I too am getting to the age a chair while camping is nice. I bought a GCI one with a back but wanted something shorter. Short is not what you get with the many cheaper alternatives.

I have not used it camping yet, just got it for Christmas but it sure is comfortable in the living room! And packs small and short, what I wanted! BTW, I believe the one you posted got bad reviews on Advrider.com for being flimsy.

I did a couple of seasons with a rather clever little chair from Kelsyus. It was very comfortable and packed down to less-than-system-case-width. But, like that 'sling chair,' it put your bottom about four inches above the ground. It even had a little pillow for your head, and I could doze off in it. But getting out of so low a chair was a strange struggle. You had to roll out of it to the side, onto your knees, then stand up. I ended up with the Kermit, which packs a little smaller and is a little more conventional in proportion.

How about something like this.....I figure since I carry a 12v compressor anyway, and it folds smaller than any other chair out there, and you can keep your beer cold, its perfect!!!!

I can just see my self at the camp fire with the cigarette in one hand and the beer in another.
One wrong move and the chair will fly away, just like that last doll I had.

Buddy of mine bought one of these last summer and has liked it. One caveat: do not flop yourself down on it or you'll find the central support planted firmly in your crack.

IMO it sits great, you really can lean back in it. And it weighs about nothing. Although I do find it a little difficult to get my 6' 5" frame back to vertical.

But that's becoming harder no matter what chair I'm sitting in!

NoRRmad and I agree on bikes and chairs! Probably about all we agree on!

I've had a Kermit for many years. Expensive? Yes. "BMW trendy"? Yes.

But it has been a perfect chair and I can and do use it in the living room when we need an extra chair for the ball game.

You can also get leg extensions to raise it up a little as you get older! So you can get out of it and at races on the slope overlooking the track you can just put the front extensions on it and sit level!

I got the leg extensions with mine but actually like it better without them. Find it easier to stretch out my legs. They would be useful at races or games for sloped locations though.

I won't use all those low ones that require contortions to get out of them. I refuse to provide any more amusement for my fellow campers at my expense. Besides, I would think after a beer or three, it might be darned near impossible to get out of those things!

Is there anything to stop you using the pillion seat/ riders seat from the bike?

On a internet shopping whim I bought one last month, and I have to say that on a 10 day camping trip ending last week I was able to really relax at my campsite, for the first time. I was was just sick and tired of sitting on a log or wood bench...
It's very comfy, and high quality..... I even fell asleep in it next to a fire one night. OK, OK, maybe I passed out, but wither way it was great!

While browsing around I found a new kermit chair for $110 shipped, thought any of you on the fence might be interested.

Yes. Get one. I got one for father's day one year and it's really a quality piece of equipment. There are plenty of less expensive seating options, but nothing close in comfort or longevity.

Yes I bought one two years ago. I thought of it as a rally chair, BMW expensive. Then I took it in my sea kayak on a weeks trip, unbelievably comfortable after a long days paddle. Last year I started to carry it in the woods for deer season, GREAT to sit in a snow covered woods, without my butt freezing off. Now I wish it came in camo.
