Let me try this one more time.

Post by Hoosier Rider »

A couple of days ago I made a post that turned out to be much more controversial than I ever intended it to be. Even after my apology, some folks feel the need to keep "piling on". After getting my thoughts together, this is what I was trying to convey to the group. I have been riding motorcycles for about 40 of my 63 yrs. When I was 14 living in a small Michigan town, there was a guy who sold BMW motorcycles from a small garage. I used to go over there & look at those huge, beautiful, black machines almost daily, vowing to one day own one. The years went by & finally I was able to buy a 1988 K75S. I loved that bike, but after 8 yrs. of ownership, I felt the need to move on. After determining that "at that time" BMW was not offering anything that really interested me. I traded for a Honda Valkyrie. That was nearly 10 yrs. ago & the Valk has served me well, But now I'm getting that "time to move on" feeling again. I had read about the 12R & when I looked at one I thought "this is my next bike". I test rode one & was convinced that my earlier feelings were true. But it was hard to do the dirty deed of parting with the Valkyrie. I knew that was what had to happen because once I had the "R", the Valk wouldn't get ridden. In the meantime, I had become interested in "Adventure Bikes". A dealer had a smokin' hot deal on a new 650 V-Strom, so I bought it to see what all the hype was about. As I said in my earlier post, "so far I like it". Is it better than a 12R? I doubt it, but I didn't buy the Strom to take the place of getting an "R", I bought it to keep the "R" company in the garage when I decide how & when to get rid of the Valkyrie. I don't have room for all three plus my Son's Vulcan in my garage. So, you see I wasn't finding fault with the 12R at all. I had read about some final drive failures on a few of the newer BMW's & figured that the law of averages would put one of the troublesome units in my garage. Now that I have been educated about that matter, I will no doubt continue my quest for the 12R. That's about it, I have apologized for my previous post, I have gathered my thoughts & re-written them here. If that's not enough, so be it. I'm getting that "R" anyway. Oh yeah, Airshaft, regarding that reference to Pamela Anderson; I wouldn't F$#k that "Skank" with your dingle.
I live in my own little world, but it's ok, they know me here.

Cool. I think the two will coexist quite happily in your garage. I know what you mean about not riding the Valk once you get an R.. same thing happened with THE K75S - it sat forlorn in a corner of my garage, and since a friend had always wanted it - figured it was better it go to someone who will polish and ride it (that one took a LOT of polishing time - but that is this friends passion..) than it sit gathering dust in my garage.

Looking forwards to when you get your R... and you know the black mit/white pinstripes is the fastest one.. :)

How dare you come in here talking about how you wouldn't screw Pamela, especially with some one else's....
Not that blond fake booby bimbo's are on the top of my list but I doubt any man would kick her out of bed for eating crackers - skank or not... LOL ;)

In case you haven't been there already, here's everything you need to know about the strom:

BTW I have to agree with Don, the coefficient drag reduced by the pin stripes make it the best handling and fastest 1200R...

All I had replied to Airshaft was "Yuck :smt118", but you expressed the thought that actually popped into my head. :smt077
