Why I hate BMW salespeople

Yesterday was a great day - my husband and I went to the BMW dealership and sat on the bikes we wanted. Took them out for a ride. Figured out Farkles and Bling.
The salesperson was very accomodating. We would be riding our new R & RT very soon. Bye bye F800STs.
We were very happy.
Today is a different story - the R1200R has no on-board computer and no tire pressure - he just noticed that at 5pm today. Apparently there is not another lowered R1200R to be had in Canada for the next 6 weeks. That's more than half the riding season done.
The R1200RT lost its radio between yesterday and today, as well as its tire pressure sensor thingy. Apparenlty there isn't another lowered R1200RT to be had in Canada for the next 6 weeks.
Anybody have any ideas - go to the States? But I bet they won't take our F800STs as a trade there. Or maybe they will.
URGGGG ---
Oh well - on the bright side - I still have a bike to ride and I can take enough pain killers to get me through the next 6 weeks. I figure it is not a good idea to compromise now - as I will be very sorry tomorrow.
I had a really bad time with the F800ST that I bought. The dealership came very close to getting two bikes back.
grumble, whine, groan ..... if only I could grow another few inches I wouldn't be needing a lowered bike - YES I must have my feet flat on the ground.

I can't imagine why you couldn't just go to the States. MAX BMW has a location in Albany, NY that's a day's ride from Toronto. They are listing a black R1200R with pinstripes and a Cristal Grey with 700 miles on it. Both have the computers on board and I think they both have ABS. Give 'em a call.

Chicago BMW has a few 1200R's on the floor, give Mike a call, he's a great guy... + they give 20% off all BMW accessories.
We're only a 6 hour ride from Toronto...

Is that better?
I will call the gentleman in Chicago - maybe I can make that work. Not so easy across borders.
Sigh.

Judy, let me see what my dealer in Montreal is showing as available stock in Canada.
Sometimes there are bikes available, but they are allocated to dealers that are willing to let them go to another dealer ... is it possible that your dealer wants to move his inventory and doesn't want to bring in another bike ???
I'll check tomorrow.

I'm from Toronto...and just picked up my 2007 r1200r from Toronto BMW in April.
Which dealer are you going to?
Have you tried BMW in Newmarket....that is where I get my bike serviced.

I am dealing with BMW Durham - the salesperson swears he has checked the inventory across Canada.
Only 2008 comes lowered, and I really want a lowered bike (both the R & the RT).
I'm just annoyed that yesterday all was good and today all is bad.
I think the RT will likely get sorted out - there is one in Quebec with a radio that he promised to try and get.
I think the R will be the real problem - because there is one here but it has no on-board computer. Which means no tire pressure - I really like the Tire PRessure on my F800ST - saves time every day I ride.
Tomorrow is another day - maybe I'll get good news for a change.

I think I was lucky....
In December 2007 I decided to make the deal on the r
BMW was offering good rates on a 2007.
The options I wanted were:
Computer
Ante Theft
ABS
ASC
The only bike in town was a Granite Gray, which I like as was loaded with all the factory options.
To get the 2007 loaded was cheaper than a 2008 with limited options..
Now I am glad to have all the options...
So if you can wait, IMHP you will enjoy the bike with all the options, and the lowered option
.

Bite the bullet and wait if you cannot find what you want elsewhere. You will be unhappy every time you get on a bike that does not have the farkles that you had your heart set on. Maybe a little compromise. The computer is a big deal, of course. TPM is not.

Buy your new bikes from your local dealer even if you have to wait 6 weeks to get what you want. You will be glad you did.
