Anybody have any experience with them. Seems a lot cheaper than the BMW alternatives.

I don't know how much cheaper they really would be as the holders are €199 and the bags are €370

Bag Carrier: http://www.wunderlich.de/frame.php?Make ... id=8161607
Bags: http://www.wunderlich.de/frame.php?Make ... id=1724660

At current exchange rates of 1.55 that's about $890.

I think you can do better than that at a dealer that offers 20% off (i.e. Chicago BMW) and get something that was made for the bike.

Here's my personal opinion:
1) I usually don't like aftermarket bags, as the carriers are ugly, so I cannot ride with the bags off. (Have you noticed that these guys normally do not show pictures of their carriers).
2) BMW bags can be keyed to match the ignition, so only 1 key for everything.

I'll add 3 & 4:

3) They are REALLY waterproof. You could use them as a life raft. The seal so well, that when they heat up and then cool down in the summer - they pull a vacuum on the inside making them difficult to open (easily fixed with a 1/32" hole drilled between the inner/outer liners.. BTDT.)

4) They fit a fullface flip-helmet in either bag and a complete Aerostitch Roadcrafter in the other bag. Makes them very handy when I get off the bike and want to wander around and not worry about my gear.

The Wunderlich bags look like what Dr. Doom would have on his bike. I really like my BMW bags but they are heavy.
I looked on the Wunderlich site for their c@ckpit, fairing to no avail. Can anyone point me to it?

+1 on the Chicago BMW suggestion. The best deal around.

This link contains the entire catalog of Wunderlich bits for the R1200R, including the classic c0ckpit fairing. It's a pdf file, so it takes a minute or two to load:

Thanks for the link, Allan. I could spend a fortune on their farkles! Does Wunderlich have a North American distributor, or does one order directly from Germany? How does that work, with the different currency and shipping time? Has anybody had experience going direct?

I don't think they are allowed to sell direct, due to their agreement with BMW Santa Cruz.
I may be wrong as I inquired with both Wüdo and Wunderlich a while back and one came back saying that they would not sell direct.

If you do buy direct, make sure they do not charge you VAT (19%).

I just got around to installing my wunderlich seat bag.
It is well made, easy to fit and is perfect for that "extra bit of space" on solo weekend trips.
Supposedly, its 100% waterproof - thought there is not too much rainfall around here
Yesterday the temp was 45 degrees :smt025

Here are some pics of the bag:
