I just bought a low mile 2000 Guzzi Quota off ADVrider
I will be flying into Denver to pick it up on 7/17/08, May hit the BMW MOA for a day or two, but could be easily talked out of it for something smaller and more interesting. Have some time and desire to see West and possibly North West. Probably be camping some.
Very open to ideas, destinations, roads of merit, riding companions (in very small numbers) I'm not really a crowd guy. A place to have a good burger and cold beer at days end would be nice as well.
Bike is knobbed at the moment so dirt OK, just not too technical as I would like to get my new toy back to New York before I trash it.
Advice and ideas welcome.
Walt,
Denver to ????

Re: Denver to ????
How much time you got? I have a few ideas for you. First, get your Colorado kicks. Then if you got more time, head over to Utah for a few days.
Let me know if you wish details on the best roads in those two states, I got the info. We could meet at a local tavern on Thursday/Friday and I could show you a map.

I'd love some more info. Thinking about Utah as well. After today I will be somewhat hard to contact. No cell or cyber on this trip.

Re: Denver to ????
Thought I would post up a little ride report. Better late than never right?
1. Flight to Denver went well. I bought the bike from a Denver PD. Me in his drive ready to leave. Nice bike huh.
2. First night in Wyoming, Tornadoes on the way. The Holiday Inn let us park the bikes under the roof for protection.
3 The HDs belong to guys who had been touring Canada. They were heading to Colorado. Great Guys.
4. My campsite at the Gillette MOA. The night before when I was in the Holiday Inn these folks got blasted. Bikes down, tents shredded, not good.
5. Moved on through Wyoming headed toward Montana. Ran out of gas on the interstate because of a shut down service station. A couple on a 1150GS stopped and helped. Great folks.
6. Up through Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Decided to head up to the UP of Michigan. Beautiful up there. Picture of the room I stayed in, Great room.
Overall a great trip. 4000 miles in ten days and not a drop of rain. Bike ran great. With the exception of the shift lever falling of in Minnesota. Fixed and back on the road in forty-five minutes.
I'm giving some serious thought to purchasing a R1150R from an inmate here so I thought I would re introduce myself. Had one and was forced to sell it without really riding it. I think I want another.
Pictures roughly correspond to report; Quota Trip;
