Just got my rims sandblasted and need to take the front wheel bearing off to clean it and probably replace it. I have 17000 on it and purchased it this spring with 14000. rode it till the tires almost fell off trying to make it to the winter but tires were too bad to keep riding. I put two oversized washers and bolted them togeather to try and save them but a lot of sand got in the hubs anyway. I'm having them painted tomorrow and would like to pop them out but dont have a manual and I'm having trouble finding a rockster specific manual. wondering if anyone can steer me to one. I downloaded a 1150 RS manual but it has spoked wheels and a different config than my 04 rockster. My next thought was after I got them painted
was to bring them to a dealer and just have him install new bearings (I read somewhere here that removing them and replacing them isnt a good idea) and mount the new Sporttec M-3s Metzlers waiting to go on. I could use a little direction here fellas.

Dont do it after you have had them painted it will likly chip the coating.

If you are replacing them you dont need to wory about damaging them
so just drift them out from the opposit side
The center spacer should have a little bit of movement to assist with this.

If you cant get a lip on it to hit try putting a rawl bolt, (an expanding bolt used in the building industy to bolt things to walls) in the center of the bearing and hit this
a kettle of boiling water on the hub can also help.

Alternativly you can pop the seals of the bearings in situe and wash them out with an aresol of carb cleaner repack with grease and pop the seal back on
