I finally figured out how to post a picture on the site so I thought I would try it out and show you the 2003 R1150R I found with 2000 miles on it. Much improved over my old Sportster.

Wow, clean! (and the best color mind you!)
2000 miles?, hardly broken in!
Coming from a Sportster, the suspension and brakes will wow you.
Congrats.

Great looking bike...and my favorite color too. How's it feel compared to the Sportster?

2 grand on an '03?! That is shameful! You need to remedy the problem with the odometer by racking up some miles!
Nice ride! Enjoy!

Put some miles on it otherwise people will think that it is a Harley.

Man talk about garage queen! Sounds like it was only ridden in emergencies! The guy's wife said "you better ride that bike or sell it!" and he proceeds to lap around the block. Now time to dump the brake and clutch fluid, I bet its brown sludge by now. Good thing you don't have whizzy brakes.

So far I have changed all the fluids and you were correct about the brown brake fluid. What I am wondering is if I should adjust the valves or sync the throttle bodies? I also want a new windshield but am confused on which design is the best for touring.

Yeah I'd probably do the TB sync as it's easy and the cables have probably stretched to the point where you won't have to do it again for a while. Valves you could probably wait on til 6k unless you want a rainy day project. For touring screen it depends on what you are used to or your noise/airflow/buffeting tolerance.
Aeroflow seems to be the gold standard in absolute protection, it's a big barn door. Mid-size screen will be noisy/somewhat buffety compared to no screen, but offers a good amount of weather protection without being too ugly. A flyscreen or sport screen will take some pressure off your chest at high speed, be less turbulent and noisy but offer little for weather protection. There is no magic screen that is small/sporty, provides a calm pocket of air, quiet, with good wx protection, but I'm sure you already knew that.

Sooo, having just come off an H/D did you consider taking off the muffler, getting Screaming Eagle pipes, rejetting the carbs and adding lots of chrome yet? :-)

Can anyone tell me which screen I have on my bike? It has BMW stamped on it. Is it the "touring screen"? Thanks.

Your picture has gone **POOF**!!
I've had both the touring and sport screens and they're both stamped BMW.
Check out the on-line parts catalog at Max BMW, that'll show windshields and part numbers....or just google the part number on the screen that you have. (I think it's 11 digits stamped into the screen above the DOT stamp... can't remember exactly)
