Crash bar mounting / Auxilliary light mounting

OK, 1) For those who have crashbars where do they attach? Do any of them attach purely to the frame? From what I have seen on the 1200r they all attach (at least at one point) to the engine itself. I want to get a some but the thought of attaching straight to the engine has me kind of leery. 2) Where do people mount their driving lights? I know about motolights but I really would prefer to mount some Hellas. Thanks in advance and as usual any info, opions, etc are welcome.

Can't say about crashbars.. for Hella mounts - look at the BMW-MOA Owners News. Look for LumaLink's ad. That's my bike in the photo. Hella FF-50's (great light and inexpensive too..)

I should note - the Hellas are now hanging from the bottom of the mounts. When I was doing shock testing (with no spring on the shock - see how clearances were with the suspension fully compressed), I realized that
IF I was at full-lock,
AND the front suspension was fully compressed - the lights
WOULD hit the fuel tank. Not the case with them under the mounts. Better safe than sorry - but - I also suspect that if I was at full lock with the front suspension fully compressed I would already be in a whole world of trouble, and the lights hitting the tank would be the least of my problems.
Just a FWIW.. I sent Gordy Tool a revised photo, but they haven't changed the one they use in their ads.

Previous owner installed the Hepco Becker bars and Hella lights. Appears they only attach to the "frame" in one location (per side). The engine seems to "hang" down from the main frame. So seems they kind of need to attach to the engine as it makes up a large portion of the support of the bike. And here is how the lights are mounted to the bars. Very effective for being seen.

One thing you must be aware of: The RR uses the engine as a stressed member of the frame. If you notice the black tubing of the frame, the front end is attached to the engine on each side, and the rear frame works the same way. The engine case is designed as a strong part of the whole frame system.
