opinions on motorcycle roadside assistance?
2004 R 1150R, loving every minute of it!
Re: opinions on motorcycle roadside assistance?
Nice Timing! Yesterday I was driving my buddy's 68' Porsche 912 and the left rear caliper froze up. I am an AMA member and since I signed up for automatic renewal I get roadside assistance. I called, told them what happened, and 45 minutes later a tow truck was there.
I'm proud to support such a great organization and have found yet another reason to be a member. I've saved a lot of money at motorcycle shops by showing my card. On average, 10%. That takes care of taxes and a bit more. I always show my card at motels and they tell me they except AAA. When I tell them it's like the same thing but for two wheels, Boom, 10 to 15% off!

Might want to take a look at your insurance policy. Mine includes it as part of the package. If not, possibly a good time to shop around.

+1 for AAA PlusRV. But the extra expense is basically for the RV and the motorcycles are a bonus. If you find another package cheaper it might be worth it. But you need to read the amenties closely. The PlusRV package includes something like 4 times of 100 miles of towing per year. We've utilized the service twice in the past 2 years for towing. Just have to be sure to tell them it is for a motorcycle. They need to find the truck in your area that as the proper tie downs.

Like jfslater98 said... Progressive Insurance provides 24/7 nationwide towing coverage with their motorcycle policies for $8/yr!

+1 on Progressive and they will tow to the nearest dealer--meaning BMW dealer
I haven't used it and hope I never will
And I thought it was $7 a year--hell that's a 14.3% increase
