Battery question
Hi, great forum. Need help, just installed new odyessy pc680 battery and now bike won't start. Turns over fine but won't catch.I had the tank off, vent lines, fuel lines, fuel pump j-plug disconnected etc. I'm pretty sure everythings connected as it should be but it's like I'm not getting fuel. I can hear the fuel pump run. I followed manual to reset motronic but didn't realize throttle cables had come out of holders at bottom connection on wheels so bike started and reved up high a couple of times. Now that's fixed it won't fire up.Pretty sure I've done something wrong but what.
Thanks in advance.

Is it possible you crossed the fuel lines??? Check that.

The fuel lines quick connects will only hook up one way,but it's possible I reversed the vent lines. I'll try that again in the am.Thanks.

side stand? kill switch?

if the fuel lines are switched the bike screams in pain when you start

a little OT, how much for the pc680 and from whom; gonna need a new one in the not too distant future

Got battery from Wunderlich America in california, was 144.00 but I live in Canada so it cost me 54.00 in shipping + 23.00 in taxes etc. They did ship it to my door in approx 2 weeks though and Bmw dealer here wanted 277.00 for stock replacement and I hope the odyessy is a better battery.(once I get bike running!!)

When you turn the key, before you crank the engine, can you hear the fuel pump noise? Did you reset the throttle position before trying to start it?

Yes the fuel pump runs and I did reset the motronic both by throttle and by removing fuse 5 for 30 sec.I pulled the plugs and they were wet with fuel. Cleaned plugs and did spark test. Seemed like a weak spark and the plugs are pretty new maybe 3 or 4000 kms. Manual says ignition service needs dealer specific diagnostic tools, sooo... I caved in today and loaded up trailer for 2.5 hr. drive to dealer. Thanks for all the i
nfo. I'll post the dealer repair and I guess it'll be beans and weiners for the rest of the month. Bret

I just ordered a new PC680 for my bike. My original OEM battery cannot start the bike after only a week off the tender (~3.5 years old).

Was $106 + $13 shipping at http://www.portablepower.com

Best price I found without looking too hard, and from a reputable source.
