R 1050 RT Battery

Looked on this board but lots of 'R' info but not 'RT'.

Owners manual says to take off the side cover? I don't
see a side cover unless they mean the whole fairing? Then the air cleaner cover and intake hose but what is it with the 'side cover'?

Something I forgot to consider, what appears to be a b***h of a job to get to the battery. I was planning on possibly running my GPS right from the battery.

Any helpful hints? And yes I will get the service manual but in the meantime this forum is a resource.

Thanks

paul

Hi Paul!
According to my Haynes manual the LH side panel has 18 screws fixing it
Time to put that blanket on the ground...well, on the garage floor anyway!
May be worth replacing that battery with a top brand gel type... ;)

Thanks Ol'Jeffers, after I posted I finally found the same information you gave me. This will be for a rainy day project. I am not persuaded, howeverm that BMW could not have made it easier. They seem to live and revel in the difficult. The "Rondel" must stand for "see if you can figure out how to do this..."! lol
