1100/1150/1200 Engine differences?

Anyone point me to a discussion/analysis of the differences between the oil head engines? I haven't found it searching here but it seems like it must have been done. I've returned to the fold with the purchase of my 1150 and I find myself curious. I know it'll be a big subject and I'm not urging a treatise here. Just wondering where to look. TIA

not sure where to look tbh...

in GENERAL:
1100/1150 - r259 series engines (OilHeads), basically the same engine, just different CC (also see R850R). I THINK the difference is in stroke, not bore.
R1200C (the cruisers) also an R259 series engine.

1200 (HexHead) - totally new engine (afaik), new internals, new cases etc etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if SOME smaller parts are shared - but AFAIK the 1200 is a very different engine.

According to my ubiquitous Haynes manual the difference in engine capacity from the 1100 to the 1150 (1130cc) was simply a 2mm overbore.

The 1200 also has a balance shaft, the cases are different to accomodate that,
and the hardware to drive it.

From what I've read also, the differences are in the bore which is much easier &
cheaper than modifying the crank for a longer stroke.

There's also the very recent upgrade on some of the 2010 R models to the DOHC flat twin. I think they're saying the results are a small efficiency and power bump.

Thanks, Guys, for hitting the high spots. I should find an engine diagram for the 1200. I'm curious about the set up of the OHC's (wider boxer?) and balancing shaft. I bet that smoothness is nice.
