'04 Rockster..............11200 mi. Riding home yesterday, 6th. gear, nailed the throttle to pass and as the rpm's increased............ the clutch was slipping. Tried it a couple more times with the same result? Bike was hot after 135 mile ride. Recently laid down but seemed ok after that episode. What's up? Slave cylinder? Is my clutch shot? TIA.

R clutches are not very sturdy, so assuming the clutch has not been abused the other choice is that the slave cylinder has been leaking and the hydraulic fluid has coated the clutch friction material. (it travels along the actuating rod)
What you are experiencing is not a common occurrence, I would get a second opinion.......the repairs are involved.

Mine exhibited the same behavior around 13,000 miles, then went away. I'm close to 17,000 miles now and it did it again the other day, then went away again.
I'm thinking the actuator may be hanging up - perhaps there's an imperfection in the slave cylinder's bore or something. Haven't pulled the starter yet to check for oily residue on the clutch.
Not very confidence inspiring.
