Rockster Tank Bag?

Post by scubas42 »

Just wondering what is the best tank bag for both looks and functionality. With the high tank on the Rockster many bags just stick up to far, so I'm interested in your opinions and pics. Also if anyone is selling one I may be interested. Thanks and ride safe!!

Avoid the Wunderlich tank bag. It looks good on paper but is badly made for the price, mine started to tear apart at the seams after a few weeks of use. The carry handle is only attached to the seam where the side and back panel meet and is not strong enough to be used as you would think, I still use it but I am carefull about how I carry it. When I replace it I will either go for a Famsa or maybe even just a cheap universal bag from Oxford.

Thanks Hank, thats good to know. I'm leaning towards a Rapid Transit Recon 19-anyone have one? I would greatly appreciate any input. Thanks again.

I like the Baglux cover on the Rockster, and the Baglux bags are a good selection - all will fit. :) I personally don't like tankbags so only have the smallest one (the "City", which I think they've stopped making :( ).

I use a tail bag for everyday. Chicane is the company, but I'm not sure they're still around.

I have the Recon 19. It's a good size but doesn't sit too high like some of the more square bags do. Good storage inside and out, has a pocket for a hydration bladder, and has straps to convert into a backpack. For me it's the perfect size to lean on when doing the long highway runs as well.

Yo, send me a pic of the citrus baglux with tankbag, I would be interested, depending of course on the amount of "ching" necessary to make such a deal? Cliff W. in western Pa.

I have one trip under my belt with a Big Max bag. Very pleased. I have the bag wired for two way radio so it is not easy to remove, but if you are using it as a normal bag one velcro strap to undo to remove. The bag tilts forward to fuel the bike. Not so big that it gets in the way.

I'm pretty happy with the Frank Thomas Cargo bag I've got. Nothing super special, good magnets that are well covered so they don't scratch, good size storage, 3 outside small pockets, and a good size map (GPS) pocket.

SW Motech / Bag Connection "Trip" attached via Quick-Lock.

My wife has "Engage" bag which was perfect fit on her old R1150R Roadster, still pretty good on her F800S.
Quick-Lock system works great, keeps the tank free & clear.
